Camps In PA Affirm, Inspire LGBT Christians – Register Today!

By Believe Out Loud

Two upcoming camps in Pennsylvania offer the opportunity for LGBT Christians to join together for worship, support, inspiration and, of course, fun!

The first – Wonderfully Made – is especially for LGBT and questioning teens (9th-12th grade). Hosted by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Wonderfully Made will be held April 13-15 at Bear Creek Camp, Wilkes Barr, PA.

As one participant put it, “Something powerful happens when a group of teenagers and adults enter into a space together and claim it as safe and affirming. A spirit of acceptance, celebration and affirmation encompasses their time together and hearts are open and uplifted.
Some might even call this spirit Holy.”

The second – Camp Out – is now in its sixth year and annually gathers LGBT folk and straight allies for three days of music and fellowship in the midst of God’s creation. If you are just beginning to reconcile your faith and orientation, this is a great event to meet people at your own pace.

Camp Out will be held July 12-15 at Mensch Mill in eastern Pennsylvania. Special musical guests this year include Justin Ryan, Kandis Glasgow and Three Twelve.
