International AIDS Conference, And Interfaith Pre-Conference
This Sunday, the International AIDS Conference will kickoff in Washington D.C.. Global experts, advocates, and other individuals working in the field of HIV will gather July 22 – 27.
As noted in the Washington Post, HIV infection rates have leveled off and today’s global AIDS picture presents several challenges around treatment delivery and prevention, reaching marginalized populations, and funding anti-AIDS programs.
An Interfaith Pre-Conference will take place at Howard University July 20 – 21. There will be more than 24 sessions and workshops, which will focus on a variety of topics including interfaith communities’ past and future responses to HIV, advocacy for treatment, and other social and cultural challenges for vulnerable individuals.
