How the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) Harms Families

Last week another federal judge ruled the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional in the case of Pedersen v. Office of Personnel Management. What is the real-life impact of DOMA? In its latest episode, In The Life Media sat down with five families to answer exactly that question.

There are 1,138 benefits, rights and protections that married heterosexual couples get from the Federal Government. But because of the Defense of Marriage Act, gays and lesbians are denied every single one of them—even if they are legally married in the state they live in.

All families deserve the protection of the Church and society.
