Thank You Governor Brown For Protecting LGBT Youth
Governor Jerry Brown made U.S. history by signing into California law the first ever ban on LGBT ‘conversion’ therapy. As reported in The Daily News, “effective Jan. 1, mental health practitioners are prohibited from performing sexual orientation change efforts—known as reparative or conversion therapy—for anyone under 18.”
These practices devastate the lives of many LGBT youth. Our friends at Truth Wins Out have thoroughly documented and investigated the unscientific activities, which all respected and reputable mental health organizations have denounced. Governor Brown stated that these therapies, “have no basis in science or medicine and they will now be relegated to the dustbin of quackery.”
Last month, Believe Out Loud joined a faith coalition supporting this ban and today, we ask Christian and other allies to thank the Governor for protecting LGBT youth.
