Anna Crusis Women’s Choir Presents Simply Love: A Marriage Equality Event

For almost four decades the Anna Crusis Women’s Choir has been recognized as both an agent of social change and a premier performing arts group in the greater Philadelphia region.  At its inception in the early 70’s the primary objective of the choir was to provide a safe haven for both gay and straight women to find their voices together through song. By 1975 Anna Crusis became a full-fledged chorus and now has the distinction of being recognized as the country’s longest running feminist choir.

Over the years Anna’s vision and voice has expanded to support social justice for all and illuminate the issues of the day facing women, youth and disadvantaged populations. Anna has performed at numerous venues across the country including Carnegie Hall, the United Nations and recently joined the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus & Lavender Light’s Gospel Choir for a Believe Out Loud concert event entitled Break the Silence!

So it comes as no surprise that these trail blazing women are preparing to lift their voices in song to support one of the most important issues facing our society today: the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people! On December 1st & 2nd Anna Crusis will present Simply Love: A Marriage Equality Event at The Unitarian Society of Germantown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This unique concert will feature an eclectic selection of music guaranteed to inspire, provoke, educate and celebrate everyone’s right to marry, regardless of their genders. Audience members are also encouraged to visit Anna’s website before the concert and submit their own love story.  These personal love stories will be woven together with the choir’s diverse musical repertoire to produce an unforgettable musical experience.  And what better city to host this special concert celebration than the city of brotherly AND sisterly love!
