Equality Ride Seeks To End Religious Oppression Of Gay People

Let me share a local snapshot of a remarkable moment in history with you.  Think March 4, 2012, Philadelphia & the Liberty Bell and a big bus full of young adults from every walk of life. They are headed across America to 15 Christian colleges and universities which identify as “distinctively Christian” to confront their policies and practices that feel distinctively unlike Jesus.

These 17 young adults, along with a handful of supporters, are part of a two-month long, fifth of its kind, social justice bus tour called the Equality Ride — a program of Soulforce, a national nonprofit organization working to end the religious and political oppression of LGBTQ people, of which I’m the executive director.
