Facebook Comments And Conversations This Week

By Believe Out Loud

Our Facebook page is a great tool we use to reach people who are supportive of the LGBT and LGBT inclusive Christian communities. Our Facebook page affects so many people, and we can see that effect displayed in the comments people write. Here are a few comments people wrote about our Facebook page:

“I truly love your site. I have 3 children. 2 of them identify as LGBT. Fortunately I was raised in SF and active in the civil rights movement in the 70s/80s. My church is completely open and supportive (Episcopal). The kids all identified as young teens. Suddenly my place was the only gay-friendly teen home in a conservative rural area. Your site, and others, is a valuable tool in helping kids! Please keep telling people that God makes all spices and flavors, and inherently Loves every one of us.”

“I LOVE your site!!!!!!!!!! I am a strong Christian and I’m tired of going to church just to be looked down on!! Thank you for directing me to a church only 20 minutes from my home where I can praise the Lord without my sexuality being an issue!!!!!!! God bless you!!”

“Just clicked on your banner ad…nice to know about this group…I look forward to learning more about it!”

“Not a Christian (or gay) but I joined anyway. I believe in equality for all. God makes no mistakes! You are who you are. Hold your head up high and don’t worry about what others say. “Find who you are and let it stay in it’s true colors!” -Rachel Joy Scott”

This week we posted on Facebook a link to a blog on our Believe Out Loud website. It was a blog about why people from St. Ansgar Lutheran Church marched in pride. You can read it here.

A day after we posted that on our Facebook page, ReconcilingWorks Facebook page posted this:

It’s Twin Cities Pride this weekend, and Believe Out Loud pointed us to a great series of blog posts about one RIC Lutheran church’s experiences at Pride!”

This week we sent out our new shirts just in time for the New York City Pride. When a customer received the shirt, she posted this on our page:

“Since I live in Michigan I just bought mine to wear around town to show support for the LGBT community… wish I could get a polo shirt… I don’t like wearing T shirts. Quick delivery too – thanks!”

It sounds like people love our Facebook page and our new shirts. It’s always nice to hear this from people we are trying to reach.
